The Ricordea mushroom (Ricordea florida) is a stunning soft coral that brings vibrant color and texture to marine aquariums. Known for their round, disc-like shape and distinctive bubble-like features on the surface of the polyps, these corals are highly prized for their striking appearance. While Ricordea primarily rely on photosynthesis for nutrition, they can also benefit from occasional supplemental feeding, such as plankton or small coral foods.

Ricordea mushrooms are particularly sought after in the aquarium trade due to their eye-catching hues and unique, bumpy texture. Unfortunately, these corals have become rarer in the wild due to recent bleaching events, but they can still be found in rocky coral reefs, where they thrive in crevices.

To support their growth, Ricordea corals do best in aquariums with a rocky or sandy substrate, where they can settle securely and spread out. These corals are propagated and aqua-cultured in our lab, ensuring sustainable practices for aquarium enthusiasts. With proper care,  Ricordea can thrive, adding both beauty and ecological balance to a well-maintained marine tank.
