The arrow crab, also known as the spider crab or arrowhead crab, is a captivating marine creature commonly found in tropical waters. Valued for their pest control abilities and striking appearance, these crabs feature a small triangular body topped with a long, pointed rostrum measuring from one to two inches in length. They move gracefully on their long, slender legs, sporting vibrant purple and blue claws. While they thrive in reef environments, arrow crabs can be elusive and inhabit various depths. They prefer shaded, cave-like areas beneath large rocks or corals, where their long legs can extend outward. Being that the arrow crab is an omnivore it compliments any marine aquarium by cleaning up algae and small invertebrates. In aquarium care, arrow crabs require hiding spots and stable conditions to truly thrive.
